What Is a Funny Name for Seedot

Nuzleaf (コノハナ, Konohana) is a Grass / Dark -type Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It is Lombre's counterpart.

Biology

Physiology

Nuzleaf is a humanoid Pokémon. Its body is mostly brown along with tan markings, save with a green leaf on top of its head. It has hands that each resembles boxing gloves. Its feet have three toes on each foot and tan bulbous legs. It has tan mask-like marking that covers most of its face and long nose. The two small dot on its chest resemble nipples.

Gender differences

Male Nuzleaf have a larger leaf on their head than the females. This also goes for its evolution Shiftry.

Behavior

Nuzleaf dwell deep in thick forests, hiding within the hollows of trees. They enjoy disturbing lost travelers, venturing out from their concealed shelters to scare them. Using the leaves on their heads as flutes, they can play deeply unsettling melodies that fill the hearts of listeners with dread. Alternatively, they may play melodies to put unwary travelers to sleep and then pull off all sorts of tricks on them, such as stealing their supplies. They can also emit disturbing cackling sounds that seem to echo throughout the forest.

Nuzleaf are adept climbers, swiftly leaping between trees to unsettle travelers with the sound of rustling leaves around them. In battle, this uncanny ability to cause dread manifests in the form of the attack Extrasensory.

Nuzleaf have a weak point in the form of their long noses; if they are pinched, Nuzleaf inexplicably become unable to attack. Trainers can also stave them off with open flames.

Popular folklore tells the tale of a Nuzleaf who became human, but was cursed with a nose that become longer each time it told a lie.

Evolution

Nuzleaf is the evolved form of Seedot, and can evolve into Shiftry by using a Leaf Stone.

Trivia

  • Nuzleaf is the first Dark -type Pokémon to have 2 egg groups (Grass and Field).
  • While Nuzleaf's Pokédex entries says that the sound of its grass flute makes its listeners uneasy, it can't learn Grass Whistle.

Origin

Nuzleaf appears to be based on a tengu, a yōkai from Japanese mythology that protects forests. Its added Dark type may reference the tricks that the tengu loves to play on people. They are also known for being depicted with long noses, which Nuzleaf's name references.

Etymology

Nuzleaf may come from nuzzle (to rub ones nose on something) and leaf.
